CSK Auction 2011
Indian Premiere league Auction was held on 8th and 9th January 2011 in Bangalore.
CSK decided to retain four of their players, MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Murali Vijay and Albie Morkel for a huge sum of money. Super Kings also had a very good strategy – to resign as many players as possible from the ipl 4 auction who are played in the first three editions of the IPL.
So, they went for Michael Hussey ($425,000), Doug Bollinger ($700,000), R Ashwin ($850,000), S Badrinath ($850,000), Joginder Sharma ($150,000), Sudeep Tyagi ($240,000) and and George Bailey ($50,000) in their side.
In order to fill up the wicket-keeper that they had last year, they buy W Saha I think this is not a good buy. They also made a good decision by buying all-rounders like Dwayne Bravo and Scott Styris.
They also tried for M Muralitharan but they failed to get him and therefore they made a write choice by choosing the left arm spinner Suraj Randiv . They finally signed two other pace bowlers in the reauction namely Nuwan Kulasekera and Ben Hilfenhaus.
Suggest which player is a great pick and bad pick…?
