CSK started off on a winning note..

It is a good opening for the defending chamipons as they beat the Kolkata Knighters in the 1st match of the Indian Premire League Season 4 to start their campaign on a winning note..

Earlier after that wonderful and colorful opening ceremony the chennai super kings captain captain cool MS Dhoni won the toss and chossen to bat that he often does on the chennai wicket as it has something for the spinners..

The CSK started with a new opening combination of young Anirudha Srikanth along with Murali Vijay..But,Vijay didnt last long as he got out after hitting a four..In walks Raina who had a excellent WC..and the two players started to build a partnership to steady the ship.. Dhoni's mantra of playing Srikanth at the top paid of well as he started to find the middle of the bat..Raina on the other hand was very happy to take singles and give more of the strike to Anirudha..Because of some awfull cacthing from the KKR as Yusuf Pathan put down two sitter's in the run of play and it proved costly in the end(Eoin morgan also dropped Srikanth..) But finally they got the wicket of the dangerous Suresh raina..And in walks captain cool MSD..On the other young Srikanth reached his first IPL fifty..Dhoni started off the fireworks with a massive six over long on...Anirudha join the party with another six over mid wicket fence. Dhoni got out at the wrong time and Srikanth got out after an excellent innings of     which includes  Fours and  massive sixes..KKR did well in the end and CSK cant capitalize on the slog overs..and some massive hits from Albie morkel help CSK to post defendable total of  Runs and felt 20 runs short..

Some bad bowling from CSK fast bowlers helped KKR to start off well with a good opening partnership with kallis and young Bisla played some magical shots on the coaching manual..(But, it is a surprise that Gambhir didnt opened the innings..) and the asking rate is also coming down for each over..CSK desperately need a wicket to put things on their fav..and Dhoni opted spinners on both sides..And it is paid off soon as Jakati picked up the wicket of Bisla..And in walks the brutus of this form of the game Yusuf pathan and he didnt waited fro too long and started to play some massive shots..Kallis on the other side reached yet another IPL fifty and started to cut loose..and commentators add anew name for kallis 'Mr. Dependable'...Dhoni brilliance in the field helped to claim the wicket of dangerous yusuf pathan..Wickets started to stumble as Gambhir (run out) and Morgan (stumped) got out cheaply...and Aswin got the important wicket of Kallis..and the match is turning towards CSK..And the match went on to the wire..with 20+ runs needed for just 2 overs..But Manoj Tiwary's two back to back sixes of Randiv's over..shifts the game towards KKR..But, Randiv get rid off the dangerous looking Tiwary in the same over..In the last over KKR need 9 runs to win...Dhoni opted for seam bowling (Tim Southee) and they took a couple of the first ball..and southee get rid off laxmirathan Shukla..and the match went on to the last ball with KKR need 4 runs to win..And CSK discussed for a long time and discussion paid off as southee bowled an excellent yorker..and seal the game for the Chennai Super Kings and they won by just 2 runs..
