CSK missed out against Kings XI

Chennai Super Kings New shuffled batting line up leads to an unexpected loss against the Kings XI Punjab by 7 runs in a match that CSK must have won with ease in M.A.Chidambaram stadium, Chepauk.

Having won the toss David Hussey elected to bat first on a pitch that is slow and low. Mandeep and Marsh laid a good platform at the beginning scoring at a decent rate. With 133-4 in the 16th over Kings XI were looking for a total over 180+. But CSK pulls it back in the last 3 overs or so.Bowling some good line & length picking up 6 wickets for just 26 runs which restricted Kings XI to 156 in 20 overs. Albie is the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 29. And Bravo chipping in with 2 wickets.

Pursuing a getable target of 157, The Openers Du Plesis & Badrinath provided the best possible start adding 47 for the first wicket. Azhar Mahmood picks up two quick wickets dismissing Du Plesis for 29(20) and Badri for 25(18). Needing 8 runs per over CSK must have sent an in-form batsmen someone like Captain MS Dhoni up the order. But, that was not about to happen, Raina (15), Dhoni (1), Jadeja (17), Saha (6) tried their best but this is not their day to deliver.

Bravo keeps the Super Kings alive by hitting some big shots but didn’t get any assistance from others, Of 20 overs CSK only managed to score 149! Fell short by 7 runs.

We still raise our hands for CSK!
